The average Haitian income today in US dollars is $350 per year. That will hardly sustain life and surely not as we in America would know it on less than $1 a day.
Public Education is not available and is not considered a right nor a priority. Although many families desire education for their children, when your looking for bread, rice and beans to feed your family, education has a lower priority. It is this environment that Luc Joesph was raised. In 1975 thru 1978 he received a basic education, and 1997 thru 2000 Luc was able to go to advanced studies and college in Gonaives Haiti. This set him on a course that has brought him from that small village in the middle of a rice field, to his present position with World Renewal International - Haiti as President. He partners with 9 churches helping them impact the world for Jesus Christ.
In the USA we have been blessed by freedom that much of the world does not know. Haiti is a country that was dedicated to Satan in the 1800’s and prior to his removal as Haiti's President, Aristide had vowed that he would rededicate the country of Haiti to Satan on the 200th anniversary of the event in 2004. However God had another plan and removed him before this could take place.
It is coming from these humble beginnings that Luc Joseph sees the needs of his people, knowing they need education to fair well in a world that is no longer bound by borders. Most importantly he understands that people. young or old must have a relationship with Jesus Christ. If not, they will not fair well, no matter what their economic station nor position. With those things at the forefront of his ministry he has joined together with World Renewal International to plant churches, educated Pastors and Church leaders in the country of Haiti and around the world.
